9:59 pm in Events
Bula, Talofa lava, Malo e leilei and Faakalofa atu! Wherever you’re from the North Shore Pasefika Festival on Saturday 19 November is an opportunity to celebrate Pasefika culture in all its colour and glory!
Over the years this event has become an important part of the North Shore’s social and cultural calendar attracting interest from both the Shore and beyond. Held at Hato Petera College in Norhcote, it has a broad appeal encompassing Pacific and a number of other communities.
A number of teams have registered for the ever popular touch tournament, the aim of which is to attract as many youth teams as possible from the North Shore. If you fancy your skills with the oval ball, you should get a team together!
There will be food, cultural stalls, stage performances and much, much more entertainment.
Performers onstage this year include Ria, Erakah, Tree Stylus, Tree Vaifale and the Reformed Dance Crew, plus more to be announced shortly.
If you are of Pacific Island origin or simply have an interest in that exciting and colourful part of the world, then come to the North Shore Pasefika Festival and celebrate. The event runs from 9am to 6pm. It is open to all and admission is free.
