Join other fans on the road to Rugby World Cup 2011. Walking the Fan Trail, a 5km route from Queen Elizabeth Square to Eden Park is a great way to show your support for the tournament and have fun doing it.
The walk starts at 5pm for all Eden Park matches, except for 25 September when it will start at 12pm. The route goes from the waterfront to the stadium, stopping at Myers Park, St. Kevin’s Arcade and Sandringham’s Wairepo Swamp Walk along the way.
If you’re going to any of the Eden Park games, why not allow a couple of hours to join in the fun? There’ll be loads of live entertainment and other activities, and the walk will take place rain or shine.
Police, security patrols and volunteers will be provided to ensure participants safety. There will also be toilets situated along the route, plus cleaning and rubbish collection crews. If you live on route you might want to get involved by greeting the fans or decorating your property in team colours.
For more information on the Fan Trail and a list of the Eden Park matches visit the Auckland 2011 website.
